Tomo Honda, (BA'97), and Honourable Councilor to the Fukushima Government, Fukushima Japan

  Mr. Honda will discuss Fukushima before the nuclear disaster, his responsibility in the local government, and then his work after the disaster and how the local government of Fukushima coped with the situation. He will discuss the restoration process and decommissioning of the reactor of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.
 
Mr. Honda has served as a Councilor to the Fukushima Government since 2005 and has served as an Advisory Member of the 2011.3.11 Fukushima Nuclear Disaster Relief Special Committee to the Fukushima Government. Before serving in the government, Mr. Honda was a corporate planner at Alpine Electronics of Germany. He holds a BA from Suffolk University, and MA in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Westminster Paris Centre.
