Based on the semi-autobiographical novel by Amélie Nothomb, the film concerns Belgian-raised Amélie, who has always felt Japanese, having been born and raised in Japan until she was five years old. 


Preceded by a reception at 5:45 PM in the theater's second floor lobby featuring French and Japanese cuisine from AKA Bistro of Lincoln. Reserve your space by Friday, May 8 ($29 admission; screening ticket must be purchased separately). The screening is followed by a discussion with Emmanuelle Marchand, cultural attaché at the Consulate General of France in Boston, who previously worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris and was also first secretary and the ambassador’s chief of staff and protocol at the French Embassy in Tokyo, Japan.
