It's the first ever cultural history of how American fashion became part of daily wear in Japan and how Japanese companies now export premier versions of jeans, button-down shirts, and sweatshirts to the rest of the world. The book is based off of years of field interviews with the original participants as well as deep research into Japanese language archival material.
The book has already garnered a lot of critical praise, including a starred review in Publisher's Weekly.
