Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 1 - 3 PM

Showa Boston's Front Lobby and Japanese Garden
420 Pond Street
Boston, MA 02130

Stop by for some summertime fun, Japanese and Tanabata style!

Tanabata (meaning the "Evening of the seventh") is a Japanese star festival celebrated on July 7th. In Japan, people generally celebrate by writing wishes on paper and hanging them on bamboo trees.

At this event, you can make arts and crafts specific to Tanabata. These include: wishes, origami stars and garland, kirigami (cut origami ornaments).

This event will be student led, designed for children and free!

RSVP to: msterritt@showaboston.edu

FUN FACT: Showa is celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, and they opened their doors on Tanabata, July 7th 1988. In 1988, the city of Boston named July 7th Showa Boston Day!
