The Boston Japan Film Festival will feature screenings of Article 9, Desert Night's Dream, The Apologizers, and Siren. The festival will also hold a screening of the documentary A Whale of a Tale, produced by Megumi Sasaki. The documentary explores what happened in the small fishing village of Taiji, after the Oscar-winning documentary The Cove was released. Sasaki's documentary won awards from the Rhode Island International Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Busan International Film Festival, among others. (Films in Japanese will be shown with English-language subtitles.)
