11:00 AM - Opening of the Japanese Oshogatsu Celebration

2:00 PM - 4:00 PM - JSB Gathering (Everyone welcome!)

3:00 PM - Mochi Pounding

Come join us at the Children's Museum to celebrate the new year (or Oshogatsu in Japanese), one of the most important holidays in Japan. Welcome 2019 with traditional Mochi sticky rice pounding, Taiko drumming, Chado (tea ceremony), Origami paper folding, Omikuji fortune telling, and so much more!

The Japan Society of Boston also invites you to join us for a casual gathering at the event. Take a moment to connect with the Japan Society of Boston community. We will have delicious treats courtesy of Gen Sou En.  Everyone is welcome - Member and non-Members alike. Feel free to stop by anytime between 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Group Welcome Room. We would love the chance to say hello and wish you a Happy New Years.

PLEASE NOTE: Children younger than 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Adults unaccompanied by children must leave proper photo identification at the Admissions Desk.
