Workshop - Furoshiki Fun

Sun, April 28, 2019 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Out of the Blue Too Art Gallery & More, 14 Harvard Avenue,
Boston, MA 02134

Discover Furoshiki, the ancient Japanese art of gift-wrapping and accessorizing, using versatile and eco-friendly textiles in a rare workshop, offered only during ArtWeek. Join multi-talented international artist Nefertiti from Etnia Fusion; take a cultural journey to learn this singular technique. Each participant will work with traditional fabrics, become familiar with the Japanese cultural concept of Mottainai, and put creativity to work by gracefully swathing items of different sizes and shapes such as books, boxes, clothing, picture frames and bottles. Participants should bring various small and / or medium sized items of their choice to be wrapped.
