FIRST FEATURE: Jellyfish Eyes
By Takashi Murakami

at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston

The contemporary artist Takashi Murakami creates his debut feature film, Jellyfish Eyes,
a family-friendly monster movie using live action and CGI.

Set post-Fukushima, Jellyfish Eyes follows a young boy, Masashi, forced to move to an “experimental city” where each child is paired with a remote-control monster, or “F.R.I.E.N.D.” But the children must beware, as these magical pets, despite their playful appearances, are part of a sinister plot that threatens the whole town.
